Horizontal Multistage Centrifugal Pumps
Horizontal multistage centrifugal pumps are engineered for applications requiring moderate to high total dynamic head with consistent and efficient performance. These pumps consist of two or more impellers mounted on a single horizontal shaft and enclosed within a common casing.
Each impeller functions as an individual stage, contributing equally to the total pressure generated. With up to six stages installed on a single shaft, the pump progressively increases discharge pressure at every stage, making it ideal for systems where higher head is required without compromising flow stability.
The pump operates on centrifugal force. Fluid enters through the axial suction inlet and passes through the first impeller, where velocity energy is converted into pressure. The liquid then moves sequentially through additional impellers, with each stage boosting the head by approximately the same amount. Finally, the pressurized fluid exits through the radial discharge outlet.
